Where I LivePosted by Shirin Moosavi (Tehran, Iran) on 13 December 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. ::1387-09-23::
Two simple and rather general views of my room. The only semi-creative (!) idea for the first shot was to climb up a ladder to get an almost aerial view! :D I'm not afraid of heights! This is it and I'm comfortable with the atmosphere of my room. Well, seems no one else is! While I really do appreciate your visits and comments, I might not be able to comment back or to reply to all your great comments on a regular basis.

Müge from Istanbul, TurkeyDear Shirin, I like the atmosphere of your room. You are a young person full of life and the mess is a proof of this. And I’m sure you can find anything you want in the mess better than when everything is in order. I had a room just like yours when I was your age. Greetings from the Neighbour :-) 13 Dec 2008 5:30am @Müge: Thanks a million Müge! @jamesy: Thanks Jamesy :) ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United States[do not disturb] How can you tell when you have been disturbed? : ] someone moved your backpack! best...jerry 13 Dec 2008 7:10am @ordinaryimages: When everyone keep telling me to clean up my room! That is disturbing!! ;D San G. from Encino, California, United StatesI particularly like the aerial view. It's like an angel's point of view, hovering there. I appreciate how candid you are in sharing yourself so fully with us all. This is quite intimate. Thank you for being who you are. Come visit "Where I live" at: http://sjginsberg.aminus3.com/ 13 Dec 2008 7:13am @San G.: Thanks Sandy! Your comments are always wonderful :) Siam from Chaingrai, ThailandVery good this presentation two photographs, very personal tidying up 13 Dec 2008 7:27am @Siam: Thanks Siam :) @Rags: Thank you Rags! I love this new camera! k@ from Paris, FranceFor sure a dynamic young boy lives in here ! :-) Happy to meet U and thanks for your comment** 13 Dec 2008 10:01am @k@: Thanks for stopping by! :) Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomYour room is as it should be, a boys room, just drop and leave it. My room was the same when I was a young guy, it still is now and I'm old ;) 13 Dec 2008 10:15am @Observing: Thanks for the comment! Well we all have our own bad habits! ;) P.S: Maybe this room is cursed!! Or is it me ? :-( dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaHello Shirin - this is if not the best, one of the best submissions today! My lovely Jacqui would never allow me to live like this inside our home, but my garage is not far off looking like this! That not an insult BTW - best thing of having a room like this is that one is constantly surprised at coming across things one has forgotten one owned! I must confess I also assumed that this was a boy's room - until I saw your beautiful "About" photo! 13 Dec 2008 12:22pm @dobbino: Thank you so much dobbino! :) Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaI like the wild clutter. It signifies a free mind. Keep that place just as it is. 13 Dec 2008 1:42pm @Michael Skorulski: Thank you Michael! It's so kind of you to say! Wolfgang - vu@granby from Granby, Québec, CanadaThere is this theory that to be really creative you need to be a bit messy, so I guess you are really creative! :-) 13 Dec 2008 2:10pm @Wolfgang - vu@granby: Thanks a million! It was one exhilarating comment :) Barmak from Karaj, Iranotaghe man faghat sali 2 bar mesle otaghe to mishe, oonam vaghti ke moratabesh mikonam. :D 13 Dec 2008 4:36pm @Barmak: Pas hanuz jaye pishraft daram! :D mo.langel from Courtelary, SwitzerlandYour inside is all the opposite from my home, each makes as he wants him and it is very well so! Sorry from my bad English! 13 Dec 2008 7:10pm @mo.langel: No worries about the English, it's pretty good :-) Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, GermanyLooks like your a very busy guy, thanks for taking part in the challenge !! 13 Dec 2008 7:25pm @Anthony Lambert: It's a wonderful challenge Anthony and thank you for that :) @rokhsana: Mamnun! Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesI would call it a 'livable mess' for you... I am sure you know where everything is.. actually, though I like things to be 'clean' I can handle a livable mess... I actually like this shot... looks homey... 13 Dec 2008 8:39pm @Fliss: Thank you so much! I sooo happy you liked this shot! Gary from Cochise County, United StatesSo many people are worried what others will think of their space that they keep it void of their own personality. I am like yourself, surrounded by what I enjoy. Thank you for sharing your space with us. 13 Dec 2008 10:24pm @Gary: Thanks for your insight! You are totally right! 100% Grahame from New ZealandIn chaos there is order. 14 Dec 2008 12:31am @Grahame: You wouldn't believe but I just suddenly woke up in the middle of the night (not exactly, as it was 5:20 a.m!) and decided to check new comments using my cell phone - which is not by accident in my bed near the pillow!- and this wireless internet thing [As I never unplug the PC and modem!]. Then I saw yours and all these things came into my mind so I decided to write them down using the pen and the notebook -again located near my pillow!- and thought to myself I would post it first thing in the morning. Last night I decided to go to bed a little earlier [that would be 2 a.m for me!] as I have a translation job at hand [not literary, but informative as I'm not that all literary geek!!!]. But then waking in the middle of the night and reading your comment I couldn't resist writing a response! I was so sleepy that at one point or two I really couldn't think in English, so I left some parts in Persian and thought I would change it in the morning! [I wrote this part in the middle of the night too! All of this response actually! I just tried to keep the correct tense for verbs! :D] Last night I had double shocks... One from the comments here, and one from a reply to an email which was merely an invitation... This whole thing gave me the idea for a future post, and I'm gonna write down the body of that post right now! Well I think I wouldn't get enough time to sleep before the alarm I set for 7:30 a.m! Thank you Grahame for your thoughtful comment! It really cheered me up :) Denise from Perry, United StatesShirin, looks like an oprderly mess to me. We have 2 sons at university and the one has a neat room, the other has a disaster. However, the disaster one can usually find a lost item, the neat one, not so easily.... Thanks for sharing piece of your life:) 14 Dec 2008 1:19am @Denise: Thanks Denise! Well it's one big and super ability to find things in similar messy situations! Super ability, I has it!!! (Sometimes I can't get enough of this I can has cheezburger!!) Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesYour room reminds me of my youth, and well my kids too. I was always so busy I never seemed to have the time to clear the clutter. My desk still gets a little messy from time to time but I keep after it a little better than I used to. Fun shot. Very clever to use a ladder. I think the people who mistook you for a boy was because your name may not be clear to those who aren't familiar with names that are not common in the western world. I know there are people who thought I was a guy...well in fairness I was named for my Grandpa...the name Laurie is or was unisex in England I suppose, although I only know of 2 male Laurie's and one was a character in a Novel! I try to look at people's profile pages if I am not sure of their gender. 14 Dec 2008 6:16am @Laurie: I think those days are not far gone for you! You ARE young :) Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandA very busy looking room!! Thanks for sharing;-) Great shots:-) 14 Dec 2008 8:43am @Linerberry: I like it this way! Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomOne persons mess is another's order, I bet you know where everything is, so why put things away where you will not be able to find them. I say, you have got a 'neat' mess there Shirin. 14 Dec 2008 9:35am @Richard_Irwin: I do know for sure! Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyThanks for the insight in your life, Shirin. And don't worry about the mess... Some people need it more orderly and some don't... Both ways work well. 14 Dec 2008 2:40pm @Mirko Herzner: You're most welcome! It works for me! Alaukika from Pune, IndiaWow!!!! Your room seems to the self contained. Must give a sense of belonging. 14 Dec 2008 4:04pm @Alaukika: Thnaks for your comment! :) @atzu: Thanks for the compliment! Much appreciated ;) Buddy from Monroe Township, NJ, United StatesIt looks just like my own computer room, I have a pile of papers and magazines 5 inches thick, if I need anything important I am sure it is in that pile. 14 Jan 2009 9:32pm @Buddy: Thanks Buddy! :) Ti from Alpharetta, United StatesAre all rats holes the same, kiddo? :-) For a second I thought this is my son's (your counter part) room! No kidding! The door, book case, closet and bed are in exact same locations, except his desk is turned 90 degree and next to the bed facing window (where you stood and took the picture). Your closet door in open position is another book case, facing the other one, so it creates a screen for the bed from the door when entering his room. On the back of the book case are giant posters of Bjor (half naked)...his walls are full of posters... It's funny how he finds orders within such a mess (like me, I guess...don't get my wife started...). He came back for Christmas from Japan last month along with his current girl friend, he instructed his younger brother to hide away his ex-girl friend's letters, photos, etc. a week ahead of time and knew exactly where everything are located in his room, he hasn't seen his room in almost two years! FYI, his room is messier than yours! :-) 25 Jan 2009 1:11am @Ti: I just love your comments! I really do!
I can't live without the closet door open! I call it the second privacy door! :D I don't have posters as you can see. Only one poster which was a kind of announcement for our Hamlet performance at university back in my school days- which was canceled and never happened again! Those were the days!
