And thanks for the compliments on mine. I've added you to my Google Reader. 22 Jan 2009 8:29pm Restoration Rake from New York, United StatesIn response to some others who've left comments regarding the prayers at the inauguration, and Obama's speech -- They were all great. They contained some important ideas, and I especially liked it when Rick Warren recited "...Yeshua, Isa, Jesus, Jesus (hay-SOOS), who taught us to pray..." That was brilliantly inclusive and I think it shows how serious Obama is about emphasizing the common threads of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. 22 Jan 2009 8:38pm @Restoration Rake: I'm glad you liked my photos! And I really appreciate that you've bookmarked me! Thank you :) I watched the inauguration and really enjoyed it. And in particular I loved the part he said I Barack Hussein Obama! :) Mere choosing Rick Warren by Obama to give the invocation is awesome! And what a wonderful thing to emphasize on the things we all have in common rather than on the differences! These are all sacred and Abrahamic religions and we all have many things in common. I'm a Shia Muslim and I'm proud of my religion, no doubt about that. And I do embrace people's faiths. I think the world is watching him. And there's a lot of hope. He's a hero for many people. But let's just admit that he's only human and can and will make mistakes. Let's just pray that there are not too many mistakes this time. Not too many fatal mistakes. I hope he can begin the healing of your country. Thank you again :) P.S: Do you think that Pink would sing a new "Dear Mr. President" song? ;) Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomInteresting work, the abstract quality of the backgrounds really work as a pair. 22 Jan 2009 9:17pm @Richard_Irwin: Thank you Richard! Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomPowerful words to go with a powerful image, whether we believe or not, the most we can do is hope. 23 Jan 2009 7:15am @Observing: Thanks Mike! @Khorshid.~: Thanks Khorshid :) Müge from Istanbul, TurkeyInteresting photos ... Real artworks ... But why is such a pretty young girl like you writing “I’m living a life I have no wish to live” ... Life is beautiful dear Shirin ... and you can always get the control ... I was extremely depressed in 2004 ... Everything but everything was going bad in my private life ... Consequently I was also very stressed at work ... and finally I lost my job ... It was a big shame for me ... But I started to rebuilt my life step by step ... I continued to experience disappointments ... but now I’m stronger and I created myself a new life and I’m happy because now I know what happiness is ... You can get the control of your life and do the same my dear friend. 23 Jan 2009 3:37pm @Müge: Thanks a million my dearest Müge. Your comment and what you've shared means a lot to me. I really appreciate it.
I feel stuck and unmotivated to work, wake up, live, die, go to gym. But still I do work, wake up and live. Don't even talk about gym! ;) Thank God I work from home. I can't take the outside world. I've told myself a thousand times that I can't have what I want. That it's not going to be the way I want it to be. But still I can't help daydreaming about everything. I'm a dreamer. A self-destructive dreamer. As funny as it may seem I'm mostly a fun kind of person. Always laughing. I used to make everyone laugh. But who's going to make me laugh? The only things that I have reserved some interest in are photography, long walks and occasional ecotours.

You're most kind! :) @NarB: Thanks :) @luissval: Glad you liked it :) San G. from Encino, California, United StatesMy dear Shirin, It would be lovely of we could slow down the negative effects we have on the environment (and on each other). It might be that we should "slow down" and consider more than just our own instant gratification, and consider other people and other times. I love that you quoted the prayers from the U.S. Inauguration. We ARE hopeful, and at least some of us (I speak for myself) are willing to sacrifice for the future and for others. We'll see how it pans out. (Do you know what that expression means? When panning for gold, you take up dirt and water from the bottom of a river into a shallow pie-pan type deal, and then, swish it around and around until the silt goes out with the water, and the dirt then goes too. If there is any gold, since it's heavier ... it'll show up. So you work at it to see what pans out. Like many things, there are cycles that have to go around and around before you can tell if anything will "pan out". 29 Jan 2009 8:26am rokhsana from tehran, Iraninteresting shot shirin, specially the contrast of sharp and blured parts, creative! 29 Jan 2009 12:46pm Barry from Kingwood, United StatesHi Shirin....Love the photo. Next time you feel down, come back to this page and read (like I just did) how many peoples lives you touch with your Pics and your words. Look at all the different countries they are in. Now more than ever, one person can make a big difference! You make a big difference! Sometimes when we our down it is easy to lose sight of the light that is within us all. Trust me yours is still there. Your passion for life is clear in your writing and your eye for photography sees the beauty in the smallest detail. I wish you peace at heart and home. Take care. 30 Jan 2009 12:55am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesThough I despised Bush, I fear his replacement will turn out to be no better for either of us or our countries. 13 Feb 2009 4:40pm |
