Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandOoo they just missed her!! Great shot!! 3 Feb 2009 5:04am Krims@nline.be from wemmel, BelgiumWonderfull street shot, love how you captured the motion and the woman is really paying attention to get accorss. Well done! 3 Feb 2009 6:50am R.J.Dee from Ettlingen, Germanyfor her it seems to be a one way street - she has already crossed the lines / great streetpic ! 3 Feb 2009 8:38am @R.J.Dee: Across the lines, who would dare to go... djedfre from schaumburg, United Statesgreat juxtaposition of haste and (albeit reckless) deliberation - wonderful capture! 3 Feb 2009 10:02am k@ from FranceHer feet right over the line ! Love the motion blur behind her - watcha, miss ! 3 Feb 2009 10:06am Masoud Nahali from Tehran, Iranprobably in the north of Tehran, well captured with nearly soft tones. 3 Feb 2009 11:29am @Masoud Nahali: Thanks! :) Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesExcellent motion capture here... and a contrast of speeds. 3 Feb 2009 12:51pm vu@granby - Wolfgang from Granby, Québec, CanadaGreat with the blurr of the cars and what appears to be a very hesitant pedestrian..... I can understand her hesitation in this traffic! 3 Feb 2009 1:17pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesGreat captured moment, Shirin ... the motion and sense of danger makes this particularly compelling ... excellent work! 3 Feb 2009 1:19pm Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesInteresting choice to compose her leaving the frame instead of entering it. Love the blur of the cars. 3 Feb 2009 1:40pm @Laurie: Thank you so much Laurie! Glad you liked it :) bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI like how both she and the cars are going in the same direction! The blur of the cars and her movement are a great combination. 3 Feb 2009 1:42pm @bluechameleon: Thank you so much Sharon! Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesGlad you kept this one. It's a great shot full of motion. 3 Feb 2009 3:50pm @Steve Rice: Thanks! Laura S from United StatesNice image, frozen in all that motion around her... she seems surreal. 3 Feb 2009 4:59pm Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainGreat composition and speed... and the image of the woman makes me a little bit uncomfortable, and I don't know why, only her expression. Good one, Shirin. 3 Feb 2009 6:15pm @Paco Díaz: Thanks a million Paco :) EYES WIDE SHUT from United KingdomOh my goodness, does she know how close she is to getting flattened! This could so easily have ended in disaster. An image that shows the impatience of our species. Very well captured, Shirin 3 Feb 2009 6:31pm ullfoll from Terrassa, SpainStunning image, great contrast between the cars speed and the slowly walking woman. I like it. 3 Feb 2009 7:33pm @ullfoll: Thank you so much for you comment! Much appreciated. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomFantastic shot, the world flashes past the old woman. Excellent ! 3 Feb 2009 9:28pm Ti from Alpharetta, United StatesIn the US it's called "jail walking" and you'll get a ticket for doing that. A lot of countries don't enforce that and people crossing the streets whenever and however they like, just like she did. Unfortunately over US, Atlanta at least, drivers are NOT expecting these kind of actions happening on the streets and DO NOT slow down... you'll read about people get killed every now and then, often times the drivers are NOT at fault. Next time in US, please cross the street where you suppose to... I heard in New York the taxi has the right-of-way and pedestrians are suppose to make way for them... 3 Feb 2009 11:04pm @Ti: Thanks Ti! :) Grahame from Mt Maunganui, New ZealandThe lighter colored car looks like it has a predators snarl on it's face ! 4 Feb 2009 1:27am @Grahame: Wow! You've got great eyes! I didn't even notice that! Nishana Minhaz from Calicut / Kochi, IndiaThis looks dangerous! Though things can be worse around here.. Great contrast of speeds. N like Grahame said, I can imagine an evil sneer too, on the second car! :) 4 Feb 2009 5:09am @Nishana Minhaz: I understand! It's a whole new world of non-official driving rules :D Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaBeautiful scene - I mean the strong verticals of the trees and the woman contrasted with the blurred cars. As to subject matter, she's treading on the line between life and peril. I hope she knows what she's doing! @Ti: Actually it's called 'jay-walking' I don't think it could land you in jail most places... 4 Feb 2009 6:13am @Damon Schreiber: Thanks Damon for this challenge + your great comments + the note! And eaither way, we do that all the time in Iran! ;) Siam from Chiangrai, Thailandwow, does this ever put them into perspective. No wonder they were constructed here. 5 Feb 2009 10:43am @Siam: Thanks for visiting Siam! But I don't exactly understand what you mean. Thanks again for stopping by. Robert Kruh from SloveniaWow, somebody is on slow speed:) Stunning capture, its a really great work! :) 5 Feb 2009 8:54pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomThats quite an intriguing shot, you almost want to rush out and save her from those cars. 6 Feb 2009 5:15pm |
